Nairobi, August 6th 2019 –Today, National Bank of Kenya and Kenyatta National Hospital unveiled a top-to-bottom makeover of the hospital’s state-of-the-art kitchen, made possible by a generous donation from the Bank.

The ksh.25M kitchen renovation project marks the completion of phase 1 of a 3-part project that is expected to take part in 3 phases. This is part of the priority projects to make over the hospital

This is the first renovation of the kitchen since the hospital opened in 1901 and will enable the hospital to seamlessly continue to prepare quality meals for over 2000 patients daily.

“The partnership with KNH commenced in 2003 and has since grown into a very successful relationship between the two institutions”, said Mr. Wilfred Musau. The Bank prides itself in providing cutting edge and value adding financial solutions to institutional customers, and as such we have been able to deploy technology powered payments processing solutions to KNH to enable them process their supplier payments, salary payments, patient refunds and statutory payments from the comfort of their offices reducing manual work, said the Managing Director & CEO NBK Mr. Wilfred Musau.

To further enhance the commitment to KNH, the Bank has a strategic branch within the Hospital to ensure maximum support for the institution to meet its obligations efficiently. This relationship shows the importance of engaging in strategic partnerships by bringing together the national governments, the civil society, the private sector and other actors to support and achieve the ambitious targets of the government’s big 4 agenda.

Speaking at the event, Ag. CEO Kenyatta National Hospital Dr. E. Kamuri said, “Our catering services are vital in supporting patient management.
